Registered Respiratory Therapist Location

Ohio

This is a 13-week contract position.

7 PM - 7 AM, 3 shifts per week, every other weekend and holiday. No call time required.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory care in all settings within the Health Center. Duties include aerosol therapy, airway clearance, blood gas analysis, endotracheal intubation, and ventilator management.

• Conduct patient assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of care.
• Provide basic respiratory care, including oxygen therapy and aerosol therapy.
• Perform critical/complex respiratory care such as endotracheal intubation and ventilator management.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide relevant education.
• Respond to Code-Blues, Code-Pinks, and Rapid Response Teams.
• Document care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
• Participate in process improvement activities.
• Complete non-patient care duties related to respiratory care.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma and an Associate's Degree in Applied Science with a major in respiratory care.
• Experience:
  
  Clinical experience during respiratory care training required.
• Certification:
  Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Licensure:
  Must hold a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License issued by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
