Position: Full-Time State Tested Nursing Assistant STNA for Home Care

We have a unique position with a mix of direct patient care, some office and training responsibilities. We are specifically looking for someone who has a lot of flexibility in their schedule and can work 40 hours or more per week, mostly Monday thru Friday but also some weekends.

We are looking for a special individual with a great mix of compassion and desire to grow professionally and personally.

Job Responsibilities Rapid Response & Readiness
  • 40+ work hours must be completed during the following on-call schedule:
    Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 11:00 pm
  • Every other Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am to 11:00 pm
  • On rare occasions, the field staff coordinator may be asked to complete an overnight shift if patient safety is at risk and all other coverage options have been exhausted
  • Be prepared to leave for a shift within 15 minutes during on-call hours (Bright Star will schedule shifts as far in advance as possible).
  • Maintain readiness by ensuring:
    • Uniform and  are worn
    • Childcare is pre-arranged
    • Cell phone is charged, and ringer is on
    • Transportation is available
    • Equipment and necessary supplies are always accessible
Direct Client Care & Clinical Support
  • Deliver hands‑on and hands‑off care per the client's personalized plan, including:
    • Personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)
    • Mobility assistance (transfers, range of motion, walking)
    • Nutrition and environment (feeding, meal prep, light housekeeping, linen changes)
    • Vital signs, intake/output, medication support, and skin care
  • Provide transportation to appointments, shopping, and outdoor activities
  • Observe and document changes in client condition; report to Director of Nursing
  • Uphold infection control standards and ensure a safe and respectful care environment
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and use equipment safely

Administrative Support
  • Conduct caregiver introductions and assist with new client intakes
  • Support onboarding of new employees and assess field staff competency
