As a Buyer, you are responsible for performing a variety of routine buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services. You will review purchase requirements and place orders with approved suppliers. Evaluate bids, select and/or recommend suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, quality and service. Follow up on all awards until completion of order.

Pay Range: $60,000‑$65,000

Your Challenge- Purchase and maintain proper inventory levels of all raw materials and finished goods.
- The purchasing activities for assigned customer projects and customer demand requirements.
- Procure commercial and safety related materials ensuring compliance, quality, and on time delivery.
- Evaluate demand requirements and develop sourcing strategies to support project timelines.
- Manage purchase orders from initiation through completion, including expediting and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support long term supply stability and performance.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives when applicable.
- Set up an onboard new vendors.
- Assist with RFQ’s, expense purchases, and departmental workload queues as needed.
- Collaborate cross‑functional with operations, engineering, sales, and quality teams.
- Perform JIT (just in time) purchasing.
- Maintain and administrate vendor contracts.
- Review and maintain proper safety stock levels.
- Negotiate vendor pricing.
- Perform other related duties or functions assigned.
- 2‑3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or supply chain with full cycle procurement exposure.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes from demand planning through order fulfillment.
- Experience evaluating vendors, sourcing materials, and managing supplier performance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Background in manufacturing required; fastener industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with nuclear industry suppliers or safety related materials is a strong plus.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements such as drawings or specifications is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Supply Chain).
- Presents positive solutions to organizational challenges.
- Knowledge of material management functions which includes procurement planning and processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Display an understanding of the importance of product quality and compliance with health and safety procedures.
