Material Handler Lead - SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE
As a Material Handler Lead, you will oversee the Pick, Pack and Ship area and perform the physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, final inspections, order fulfillment, stocking and distributing materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Checks received product against purchase orders / invoices, documents receipt of products and rejects unsatisfactory items.
Location:
Middleburg Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area) Pay: $25-$27/hour. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in Ohio. Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
- Coordinate work with other employees to maintain on-time delivery.
- Process material with a high attention to detail, including examination for damage, processing discrepancies, and delivery of material to stock locations.
- Perform final inspection of products using tape measures, calipers or other measuring devices.
- Possess the ability to convert fractions to decimal and vice versa, find circumference of a circle, and understand units of measure conversions (e.g., square feet to square inches).
- Prepare, load and unload shipments, including documentation and inspection.
- Package products for shipping via UPS, Fed Ex or freight carrier.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce future discrepancies.
- 5+ years of experience in a Material Handler, Order Picking, Packing or Warehouse role.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to count, measure, and calculate for the purpose of inspecting and packaging products.
- Use of hand tools to cut, package and secure products for shipment.
- Experience mentoring or supporting team members in daily operational tasks.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and bend, lift, and stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
