Straight Nights 7P-7:30A EOW and Holidays

The General Observation Nurse plays a key role in monitoring patients' physical conditions, providing basic nursing care, and assisting in the early detection of potential health issues. Nurses in this unit typically deal with high patient turnover, often housing patients from the Emergency Department.

• Continuously monitor vital signs and document any significant changes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and comfort measures.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient care plans.
• Provide education to patients and families on health conditions and treatment plans.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions, providing initial care in emergencies.
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe environment.
• Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and timely.

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Ohio State Board of Nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a general medical-surgical unit or observation.
• BLS certification required.
