Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. The Wound Care Center Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider to deliver wound-related and basic nursing care in accordance with company, hospital, and regulatory policies and guidelines.
EssentialFunctions / Responsibilities
- Provide wound-related patient care following Basic Life Support (BLS) and approved hospital protocols and procedures.
- Assist in vein clinic as assigned after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training.
- Assist with intake and discharge as needed.
- Provide assistance with case management in accordance with state regulations and directed by the RN.
- Gather patient information.
- Gather necessary equipment and supplies for the RN or provider.
- Report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions to ensure quality of care.
- Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties after completing required Healogics hyperbaric training.
- May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing required Healogics hyperbaric safety director training.
- May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy.
- Perform other duties as delegated.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program or state‑approved educational program.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment.
- Two or more years of experience as an LPN/LVN, including at least one year in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long‑Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting.
- Wound care experience is preferred.

- Competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong organizational, prioritization and time‑management skills.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills.
- Customer service and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
- Problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to stay calm in all situations.
- Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems.
- Standing for extended periods (4+ hours).
- Viewing computer screens for extended periods (4+ hours).
- Typing on a computer for 4+ hours.
- Moving about, reading, communicating, writing, and color perception.
- Close, distance and peripheral vision.
- Lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds; lifting/moving 20‑75 pounds with equipment assistance.
- Pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching/grasping/touching with hands.
- Normal office environment, primarily indoors.
- Patient care environment.
- Exposure to hazards such as blood‑borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, flammable explosives, and mechanical equipment.
- Proximity to moving objects.
