Barista - Shift Sub

Director of Global Grounds | Global Grounds Coffee

Availability Needed:
We are looking for someone with flexibility to fill in as needed, either subbing for another barista or being additional support for special events. Aside from variable subbing/filling in, this role may possibly work one shift per week. Sunday availability is needed.

• Opening/Closing the shop
• Greeting and taking customer orders and payments, and making drinks
• Clean and sanitize their work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools

• Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers
• Servicing customers and taking orders
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Keep the bar area clean
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and reports any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
• Handle/serve pastries, sandwiches and other food items
• Follow checklist of opening/closing responsibilities

• Attention to detail
• Great communication skills
• Ability to learn to operate POS system/register
• Barista experience appreciated but not required
• Flexible availability
• Must be age 18 or older
• Available 1-2 Sunday shifts per month
