We are looking for an experienced carryall driver to drive a new 4-axle Peterbilt and pull our superload trailer. This position requires meticulous planning and coordination to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing superload movements. The driver is responsible for operating specialized heavy-duty vehicles and trailers designed to handle these exceptional loads, often requiring escort vehicles and route surveys.
Success in this role ensures the timely delivery of large-scale equipment, construction materials, or industrial components, supporting infrastructure projects and commercial operations. Ultimately, the Superload Driver contributes to the seamless movement of goods that are vital to economic growth and development across the United States. There is a $5000 signing bonus for this position.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy-duty trucks, preferably with superload or oversized load hauling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations related to oversized and overweight loads.
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and maintain compliance with Department of Transportation safety standards.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety inspection procedures.
- Able to pass DOT drug test and criminal background check
- Previous experience coordinating with escort vehicles and law enforcement for superload transport.
- Certification in specialized heavy haul or oversize load driving courses.
- Familiarity with load securement techniques specific to superloads.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in dynamic transportation environments.
- Operate heavy-duty trucks and trailers to transport superloads safely across designated routes.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure all equipment is in optimal condition for transporting oversized loads.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, escort vehicle operators, and regulatory agencies to plan routes and obtain necessary permits.
- Adhere strictly to all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies related to superload hauling.
- Monitor load security throughout the journey and make adjustments as needed to maintain safety.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and authorities to report progress and resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, permits, inspections, and any incidents encountered during transport.
The required skills enable the Superload Driver to operate complex heavy-duty vehicles safely while managing the unique challenges of oversized loads. Knowledge of transportation regulations ensures compliance and helps avoid costly delays or penalties. Strong mechanical aptitude allows the driver to perform thorough inspections and address minor maintenance issues proactively. Preferred skills such as route planning and coordination with escort teams enhance operational efficiency and safety during transport.
