Software Engineer Intern
We are seeking a full-time Software Engineer Intern at Garmin's Middlebury, CT location. In this role, you will be responsible for learning and training to develop software for Garmin's aviation products in a team-oriented environment under supervision. Essential functions include learning to develop software in Angular, JavaScript, or other selected languages for Garmin aviation products in accordance with Garmin's software development methodology with guidance.
Learn to test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers. Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities. Learn to perform maintenance activities for products already in production in addition to new product software design. Associates are expected to integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible as part of their normal job responsibilities.
Basic qualifications include pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a field relevant to perform the essential functions of this job description. Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) are required. Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Relevant experience and/or training in languages such as Angular and JavaScript, or other languages relevant to Garmin's business needs is required.

Desired qualifications include pursuing a master's degree in Geomatics, Aerospace or Software engineering. Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) are preferred. Previous experience working in a team environment is preferred. Background in aviation or prior interaction with pilots/flight operations is preferred.
