Overview
Middlebury’s School of Hebrew (SoH) is hiring Hebrew tutors for summer 2026 (June 23rd – August 14th), on Middlebury’s main campus in Vermont. The SoH combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners by actively supporting the SoH’s teaching, dining, residing, and recreational activities with students as they pledge to read, write, and speak exclusively in Hebrew.
In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided.
We are looking to complement our team of experienced SoH instructors with one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring for language learners who require extra academic support. Tutors will also support the overall mission of the School by contributing to our co‑curricular and cultural offerings. Tutors will work with students during class and might be asked to fill in for teachers in the classroom if needed.
Note:
This position is for summer 2026 only.
This is a part‑time, non‑benefits eligible hourly position. The wage for this position is $25 per hour.
* Subject to change once 2026 budgets have been approved.
Academic background in Hebrew, experience as a Hebrew tutor in group and individual settings; experience with and sensitivity to very diverse groups of learners; enthusiastic, dynamic, and confident as a tutor‑teacher with a true commitment to student learning and teamwork. Native or near‑native proficiency in Hebrew, oral and written.
