A. Hannaford Regional Technical School District (PAHRTSD) is looking for an electrical technology educator to join our collaborative team (pending program approval). The Electrical Technology Instructor is responsible for preparing secondary students for entry‑level job employment in the electrical field and/or preparing students for post‑secondary degree and apprenticeship programs. This position is effective starting in the fall semester of the 26/27 school year.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed electrician (journeyman or master) and holds the industry‑recognized credentials offered within the electrical program of instruction (i.e., OSHA 10, NCCER).
  • A valid Vermont Professional Educator’s License with a Career and Technical Education endorsement is required: 17‑B:
    Career Technical Education‑Architecture & Construction. If an applicant does not already hold the required license, a willingness to complete the CTE Teacher Apprenticeship Program and desire to work with 9th–12th grade students.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in professional software such as Google Workspace/Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Professionalism with young people and members of the public.
  • Lifelong learner and ability to learn new technologies.
  • High school diploma.
  • High degree of organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain VT teaching certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master electrician license.
  • Teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver curriculum for AOE‑approved career technical education electrical program.
  • Prepare students for success in the Vermont Electrical apprentice program through both theory and hands‑on instruction leading to successful completion of the VT Electrical Apprentice Level I exam.
  • Maintain a productive and supportive classroom using effective classroom management skills.
  • Create daily lessons and prepare materials and classroom for class activities aligned with VT AOE/CCTC proficiency standards.
  • Prepare, administer, and grade assessments and assignments in order to evaluate students’ progress.
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss students’ progress and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.
  • Provide differentiated instruction, student engagement, quality pacing and rigor throughout lessons taught.
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers, and guide students in learning from those activities.
  • Select, store, order, issue, inventory and maintain classroom and shop equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Prepare and manage the program budget.
  • Advise Skills

    USA Career Technical Student Organization and assist students with preparation for their competitions. Occasional travel to support students for these competitions.
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
