Job DescriptionAddison Central School District is seeking a dynamic, collaborative School Psychologist to join our team. This is a 10-month, full-time position dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and behavioral success of students across all grade levels.
By merging standardized evaluations with a proactive problem‑solving approach, you will help design programs that foster effective educational environments and maximize student potential through close partnership with staff and families.
Position Highlights- Schedule:
10-month, Full-Time. - Opportunities:
Potential for additional summer work. - Focus:
Evaluating children and adolescents with a variety of academic, social-emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
- Assessment and Identification:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine eligibility for all disability categories regulated under the special education rules of Vermont, including diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). - Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI):
Provide expertise on the development, implementation, and interpretation of tiered interventions and progress monitoring data to determine eligibility for special education services under Specific Learning Disability (SLD). - Team Leadership:
Serve as an active member of evaluation planning and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams, leading problem‑solving meetings and guiding parents and teachers through the evaluation process to determine eligibility and develop interventions and accommodations. - Behavioral Support:
Conduct classroom observations and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to develop and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). - Evaluation Reporting:
Translate complex data into accessible written reports and communicate clearly with parents, teachers, and other attendees of eligibility meetings.
- Education:
Master’s Degree in School Psychology (or related field). - Licensure:
Holds, or is eligible to obtain, a Vermont License with a School Psychologist endorsement. - Legal Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations governing special education law and the identification of children with disabilities. - Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present technical data effectively to parents and administrators.
$53,323 to $107,446 Per Year
