Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Creative Writing

Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT – Full‑time, 1‑year position beginning fall 2026 in the English Department.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two fall courses, one month‑long intensive winter term course, and two spring courses.
  • Deliver Introduction to Creative Writing courses and advanced Fiction and Nonfiction workshops.
  • Advise creative writing theses.

Qualifications

  • MFA in Creative Writing.
  • Experience teaching creative writing courses at the college or university level.
  • Writer of fiction with a secondary specialization in creative nonfiction, or writer of creative nonfiction with a secondary specialization in fiction.

Location & Compensation

On‑campus, Vermont. Salary range: $92,577 – $96,355 per year. Benefits eligible.
