MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE, MIDDLEBURY, VT 05753 The Department of Philosophy seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor for a tenure‑track position, beginning September 2027, in AOS:
Epistemology (especially Applied Epistemology, Social Epistemology, Political Epistemology, Feminist Epistemology, Virtue Epistemology). The candidate will also be able to teach one section of our introductory formal logic class annually. In addition to their scholarly program, the successful candidate will have broad philosophical interests and will be a dynamic and engaging teacher committed to working with students with diverse interests and backgrounds.

The standard teaching load is 2‑2, with an additional Winter Term course every other year. The candidate will also regularly contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College, including committee membership and serving as Director or Chair of a Program or Department when asked.

This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $91,462–$103,452 per year.
