Overview
A registered nurse is needed for a 16‑week contract in a hospital Birthing Center in Middlebury, Vermont. The position starts on 08/03/2026, with a shift schedule of three 12‑hour nights per week. Weekly pay is $2,541–$2,683 with no guaranteed hours. The assignment may require floating to Med‑Surg and ED units as needed.

Birthing Center (Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn care) with float to Med‑Surg and ED - Mileage‑based travel pay tiers apply
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, support laboring patients through delivery and postpartum transition.
- Assist with obstetric procedures and deliveries; provide newborn care and parent education.
- Administer medications and anticoagulation per protocol; manage pain relief and labor progression.
- Perform ongoing nursing assessments; document in the electronic medical record (Epic) and communicate changes to the team.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, collaborating with obstetricians, anesthesia, and pediatric teams.
- Float to medical‑surgical and emergency department units as needed while maintaining patient and family safety, privacy and comfort.
- Ensure adherence to unit policies, infection control, and patient safety standards; schedule may vary with unit needs.
- Maintain reliability for a minimum of every other weekend or other adjustments to meet unit requirements.
- Active RN license in good standing;
Vermont licensure or eligibility to practice in Vermont. - BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required.
- 1 year of LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Postpartum) experience required.
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required.
- Prior travel experience preferred.
- Ability to float to Med‑Surg and ED units; night shift availability.
