Position: Adult - Crisis Bed Support Substitute

Crisis Bed Support Substitute

Make a difference when support matters most.

CSAC is seeking a compassionate, grounded professional to support individuals experiencing psychiatric crises, substance use concerns, acute intoxication, and other behavioral health needs. You'll provide short-term stabilization, crisis support, and connections to ongoing services using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm reduction approaches.

Pick up shifts when you want to work as a substitute. It is the same meaningful work with flexibility in schedule. The pay is $21.43/hour with shift differentials of plus $5 for overnight, and plus $4 for evening hours.

What You'll Do

  • Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, de-escalation, and stabilization.
  • Monitor individual safety and respond to changing medical, behavioral, or psychiatric needs.
  • Assist with intake, documentation, discharge planning, and connections to community resources.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, medical providers, Emergency Services, and community partners.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience, or a comparable combination of experience and knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and crisis-response skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, maintain professional boundaries, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, recovery-oriented practices, and harm reduction.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Preferred:
    Experience with psychiatric emergencies, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions.
