Network Administrator
Overview
The Network Coordinator is accountable for the proper installation and maintenance of the ARH computer network equipment and peripherals.
Responsibilities- Ensures that the installation of computer and telephone equipment adheres to vendor specification and codes, and meets interior design layout.
- Coordinates the use, maintenance, and repair of the computer network equipment.
- Maintains a schematic of the ARH computer network equipment to aid in planning of future expansions and troubleshooting existing problems.
- Evaluates the quality of the ARH computer network equipment and maintenance.
- Assists in procedural training.
- Maintains inventory of installed and replacement equipment, its location and record of scheduled maintenance.
- Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of operation of testing instrumentation.
- Makes recommendations for proper network monitoring, testing tools and associated software.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be available to travel as needed (estimated to be 80% of time).
- Associate degree in Computer Science and two (2) years related experience utilizing a real time communication system.
- Minimum four (4) years related experience.
- Successful completion of courses in Data Communications.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.
Physical Requirements
Must possess the physical ability needed to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for medium work.
Specific AccountabilitiesResponsible for maintaining records of equipment inventory, equipment location, maintenance activity, and network configuration. Responsible for assuring that the computer network equipment is installed and maintained according to specifications, and in the proper location. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field so may recommend new services, products and equipment. Continue professional development by attending education programs designed for specialty areas.
