Asphalt Plant Groundman - Middlesboro, KY

The candidate will be responsible for all ground operations at our Asphalt Plants, including greasing equipment, general labor, equipment operation, and routine maintenance. This position reports to the Asphalt Plant Foreman.

• Work in a team environment with other co‑workers and managers.
• Operate and maintain plant equipment such as bobcat, skid steer, man lift, water truck, and haul truck.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance on plant equipment using ladders to access platforms and landings.
• Follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures.
• Follow directions of the Foreman for daily tasks and project expectations.
• Perform daily pre‑ and post‑inspections with appropriate documentation per company policies.
• Assist in training less‑experienced employees on equipment operations, servicing, and repair.
• Assist the plant foreman with daily operations and plant upkeep.
• Perform welding and fabrication duties as required.
• Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
• Perform manual tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, and jackhammer operation safely.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co‑workers, supervisors, and the public.
• Willingness to travel, work nights and weekends, overtime, and outdoors in extreme temperatures.
• Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Work at heights up to approximately 50 feet.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Pass a pre‑employment “Fit for Work” physical.
• Provide valid documentation for the I‑9 Immigration document.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Previous related experience in asphalt operations and/or training a plus.
