Special Education Clerical Aide
Location:
Fuller Meadow Elementary School, Middleton, Massachusetts
Part‑time, 15 hours per week, starting August 31, 2026.
Reports to:
Special Education Coordinator.
- Assist the Special Education Coordinator with various paperwork tasks.
- Perform clerical tasks such as scheduling, typing, filing, data entry, and telephone tasks.
- Photocopy and distribute documents as directed.
- Type documents such as letters, memos, team‑meeting notices, miscellaneous reports.
- Enter essential student information into special education management software and run reports.
- Make and/or return telephone calls and relay messages for the coordinator.
- Send e‑mail messages as directed.
- Execute other duties assigned to assist in the flow of information among staff and parents.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in office administration or secretarial training preferred.
- Experience in a busy office environment and ability to multi‑task.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Understanding and compliance with confidentiality requirements.
- Fast keyboarding skills (65 + words per minute).
- Experience with Word, Excel and database programs.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of office equipment such as computers, fax machines, shredders, copiers, etc.
- Speed and accuracy with keyboarding and word processing.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to use Excel for data entry.
- Excellent English usage, spelling, and grammar.
- Operate standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, phone).
- Sit for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively via telephone, email, and in person.
- Maintain visual acuity for computer and printed materials.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motions such as typing.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, or reach for files or supplies.
Professional office setting in a school; moderate noise level; regular interaction with students, staff, and the public.
