Mechanical Design Engineer – Fameccanica, Boston Hub (Middleton, MA)

Fameccanica North America is growing its Boston Hub and hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design custom automation systems. This is a high‑impact role for an engineer who enjoys turning concepts into practical, production‑ready equipment.

• Design mechanical systems for custom automation equipment
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials
• Partner with controls, electrical, manufacturing, and project teams
• Support design reviews, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement efforts
• Help move designs from concept through build, test, and deployment

• 5 to 10 years of mechanical design experience in automation or custom machinery
• Strong CAD skills, ideally in Solid Works or Solid Edge
• Experience creating assemblies, drawings, and production‑ready documentation
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and solve design challenges efficiently
• Hands‑on, practical mindset with strong attention to detail
