Mechanical Design Engineer
Fameccanica North America is growing its Boston Hub and hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design custom automation systems. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who enjoys turning concepts into practical, production‑ready equipment.
What You’ll Do- Design mechanical systems for custom automation equipment
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials
- Partner with controls, electrical, manufacturing, and project teams
- Support design reviews, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement efforts
- Help move designs from concept through build, test, and deployment
- 5 to 10 years of mechanical design experience in automation or custom machinery
- Strong CAD skills, ideally in Solid Works or Solid Edge
- Experience creating assemblies, drawings, and production‑ready documentation
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and solve design challenges efficiently
- Hands‑on, practical mindset with strong attention to detail
