Design the 3D plant systems powering the future of medical isotope production in a high-impact engineering environment.
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-driven CAD Designer to support the design and modeling of complex plant and facility systems. In this role, you will develop and maintain 3D models used to coordinate engineering design, construction execution, and ongoing facility operations.
You will work across multiple plant system disciplines including process piping, pressure vessels, HVAC, fire protection, electrical distribution, structural components, and architectural features. Your work will directly contribute to the safe and efficient production of medical isotopes and critical processing solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional who enjoys working in highly technical environments where accuracy, collaboration, and system integration matter.
Responsibilities- Developing detailed 3D models of plant systems, process skids, facility layouts, and vendor components using CAD/BIM tools
- Creating and modifying Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and system piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Producing structural and architectural 3D models and associated 2D drawings using Revit
- Drafting complex piping layouts based on engineering inputs such as:
- P&IDs
- General Arrangements (GAs)
- Piping specifications
- Equipment arrangement drawings
- Updating models for tanks, vessels, and process equipment, including piping modifications
- Preparing detailed mechanical and construction support drawings
- Performing plant walkdowns and field verification for as-built documentation
- Collaborating with engineering teams to identify design conflicts and maintain an integrated facility model
- Supporting facility system designs that ensure safe and effective operation of production equipment and controls
- Clear ownership and momentum on 1 to 2 mission-critical technology programs
- De-risked hardware platforms with a clear path to deployment
- Strong alignment between R&D, Engineering, and Operations
- High-performing technical leaders who trust your judgment and direction
- Data-driven decisions that balance ambition with realism
- An Associate degree in engineering or related discipline with 3–5 years of recent design experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related field) with relevant design experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Plant 3D toolset strongly preferred) and/or Revit
- Familiarity with drafting practices and engineering design standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide sound design input to engineers and designers
This role offers the chance to contribute to advanced engineering projects supporting the production of medical isotopes and innovative solutions with real-world impact. You will join a collaborative engineering environment where your modeling expertise plays a critical role in building complex systems safely and efficiently.
