Pay Rate: $22.82 $ 31.37/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Standard Day Shift
Shift Hours: Flexible start time between 6:00 AM 8:00 AM

Position Overview

Bear Staffing is seeking a CNC Machinist II for an advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment in Middleton, Wisconsin. This position supports the production of high-precision components used in next-generation aerospace technology and mission-critical systems.

The CNC Machinist II will be responsible for operating and programming CNC and manual machining equipment while maintaining strict quality, precision, and safety standards within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior CNC machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production setting focused on innovation and precision manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and program CNC machining equipment
  • Perform machine setup and basic maintenance activities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Use precision measuring tools including micrometers and calipers
  • Deburr, clean, and inspect machined parts
  • Troubleshoot machining and production issues
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Follow PPE, shop safety, 5S, FOD, and ESD procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and production goals
  • Assist with training junior machinists as needed
Requirements
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
  • Experience with CNC programming, G-code, and M-code preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines
  • Manual mill and lathe experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Machinist certification is a plus
