Food Runner, The Immigrant Room (500 Sign On Bonus) | Work Mode:

Location: Kohler, WI

The food runner is responsible for delivering the food from the kitchen to a guest in a restaurant. They are responsible for ensuring that each guest receives the correct order. A few of the main duties include: serving as the final check on quality before delivery, matching the food ticket to the guest/table, and refilling guest beverages. They also answer guests’ questions about ingredients or menu items and communicate feedback or requests to the appropriate team members.

Responsibilities
  • Have a strong working knowledge of table numbers and seat numbers for the entire restaurant.
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables rapidly and accurately.
  • Act as a liaison between Front of the House and Back of the House staff.
  • Be proficient in handling plate, glass, and silverware appropriately.
  • Be knowledgeable about service standards (serve from the left and clear from the right).
  • Be able to confirm special instructions, allergies, or modifications before the food is delivered.
  • Assist the waitstaff with table setting by placing appropriate tableware and preparing for the next course (e.g., b & b plates for butter).
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (proper temperature; hot food hot, cold food cold).
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils as needed; may pre-bus or assist in bussing.
  • Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.
  • Communicate quickly with the appropriate team member when a guest has feedback or requests (e.g., when they ask for the check).
  • Maintain good knowledge of outlet details (hours of operation, history, how to answer the phone, etc.).

  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to listen to directions.
  • Great organizational skills.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be approved. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand for at least 8 hours per shift. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The hourly range for this position is $10.40 - $15.60 plus tips/gratuity. The specific hourly rate offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, and location. Sign On Bonus payment structure is tiered and dependent on employment status and hours worked.
