SummaryGuy’s Truck & Tractor Service is seeking a dependable and motivated B-Level Technician to join our fast-paced, family-driven team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment in both shop and roadside environments. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical experience, works efficiently under pressure, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time.

These technicians are highly skilled techs that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of tech typically has many years of experience and training levels.
- Engine rebuild with no assistance
- Advanced engine diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket scan tools
- Class 7 and 8 engine and aftertreatment diagnostics
- Use special tools and specialized equipment to diagnose mechanical failures or problems
- Diagnosing and repair of heavy-duty air systems and understanding the complete air systems
- Identifying engine and drivetrain parts for replacement
- Diagnosing and repair of class 7 and 8 HVAC systems
- Operates vehicles to diagnose problems and validate repairs have been completed
- Diagnosing and repair of all components attached and driven by the engine or transmission
- Diagnosing and repair of all types of PTO driven hydraulic systems
- Serves as a team leader/lead tech when assigned
- Mentoring level B and C technicians
These techs are skilled in mechanical repair and have some diagnostic skills. B Level techs generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
- Diagnosing and repair of driveline and clutch systems
- Engine diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket scan tool
- Diagnosing and repair of diesel engines and related parts
- Diagnosing and repair of all steer, drive and trailer axle wheel end components
- Diagnosing and repair of all S-Cam and disk brake components
- Diagnosing and repair of all HVAC components
- Diagnosing and repair of all suspension and steering systems
- Installing and plumbing of PTO and hydraulic systems
- Performing wheel alignments
- Rebuilding of suspension and axle components
- Diagnosing and repair of chassis electrical systems
These techs are more entry level.
- Perform oil and fuel filter changes
- Changing tires on class 7 and 8 vehicles
- Greasing of the under chassis and mounted equipment
- Changing of light bulbs and light electrical repair
- Remove and replacement of batteries
- Checks equipment for defects under hood or under chassis
- Cleans vehicles
- Cleans garage area and maintains shop equipment
- Disassembles and cleans vehicle parts
- Full Time
