Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry

The Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry beginning July 1, 2027.

• Develop an independent research program supported by extramural funding that integrates biochemical, biophysical, and structural approaches to address fundamental problems in the life sciences.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, especially biochemistry, advanced laboratory courses in biochemistry or molecular biophysics, and introductory and intermediate molecular biophysics courses.
• Teach one on-campus course each semester and facilitate a journal club or graduate seminar.
• Establish a new laboratory in the university’s life‑sciences building and participate in the Ph.D. training program and cross‑disciplinary initiatives.
• Advise and mentor students and participate in faculty governance at the departmental and university levels.

• Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field.
• Postdoctoral experience in biochemistry, molecular biophysics, or structural biology.
• Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.
• Ability to teach the courses listed above and contribute to the undergraduate and graduate curricula.
