The Chemistry Department at Wesleyan University invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track
Professor of Chemistrypositioninany of the areas encompassed byexperimentalphysical,computational physical,orinorganicchemistry,withan expected startdate of July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vibrant, externally funded research program involving bothgraduateandundergraduate researchers.
Candidates shouldalsodemonstratepotential for excellence in teachingatboththeundergraduate and graduate levels. Special consideration will be given to candidates capable ofteachingcoursesinbothintroductory and advanced topics ofphysicalchemistryor inorganic chemistry for both undergraduate and graduate student populations.
Additional duties include advising and mentoring students andparticipatingin faculty governance at the departmental and university level.
Candidates who have demonstrated success in working with diverse populations and whose research could contribute to Wesleyan’s interdisciplinary programs(including,but not limited to,the College of the Environment,the College of Integrative Sciences,andtheCollege of Design and Engineering Studies) are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field at the time of application.
