Special Education Teacher - Middletown, Connecticut

Youll play a vital role in delivering tailored instruction and building strong relationships with students who require additional support in both resource and high school classroom environments.

• Active Connecticut Special Education (SPED) licensure
• Experience teaching students in high school or resource settings preferred
• Strong commitment to individualized education plans (IEPs) and inclusive teaching practices
• Excellent communication skills when collaborating with fellow educators, families, and support staff
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and maintain detailed documentation as required by state and federal guidelines

• Provide instruction to high school students with diverse learning needs, both in resource settings and mainstream classrooms
• Develop and implement effective IEPs, ensuring each student receives appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary to meet academic and behavioral goals
• Partner with families, therapists, and school support teams to promote student success
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and evaluations
