Broad Function:

Under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher, this position is responsible for providing support to teachers with the daily operational needs of the classroom

Essential Functions:

Essential functions encompass those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that are critical and fundamental to the job and comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable.

  • Escorts students to and from the classroom for arrival, dismissal, nurse visits, lavatory breaks, lunch, and other scheduled activities or special programs.
  • Assists with the supervision and support of students during arrival and dismissal times to ensure a safe and orderly process.
  • Provides support in the cafeteria during lunch periods and assists with monitoring students during recess.
  • Maintains a safe and organized classroom environment by helping with daily routines and transitions.
  • Under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher, supports students academically, including helping individuals or small groups with classwork, reinforcing lessons, and encouraging engagement in learning activities, as directed by the teacher.
  • Assists with student supervision and transitions throughout the school day, as well as provide academic support as needed under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Assists with retrieving, obtaining, placing, classroom materials, supplies, and setup to ensure smooth instructional time.
  • Collaborates with the classroom teacher and other staff to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    Minimum

    Work Experience:

    Prior experience working with young children in a school or related setting preferred.

    Salary & Benefits:

    $16.35 per hour;
    Monday to Friday; 8:50 a.m.

    - 3:35 p.m.;
