Process Engineer

  • Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or relevant experience
  • Required – High Competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM Applications
  • Preferred – Competency with Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Preferred – Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in fabrication/production
  • Preferred– Competency with Automation Design
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
  • Evaluate current methods of fabrication, product quality and develop detailed work and process instructions to ensure consistency and repeatability.
  • Audits operations performance to instructions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
  • Development, evaluation, and improvement of fabrication methods, using knowledge of product design, materials, processes, tooling, and equipment capabilities.
  • Define and write product, test, and process specifications.
  • Manage and work closely with Supervisors and hourly technicians to provide process training and written work instructions to ensure efficiency and quality, both current and future state.
  • Coordination and communication with existing and new external suppliers.
  • Oversees production, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and development of new, modified and/or existing processes.
  • Establishes high yielding, cost effective processes based on product need and customer /quality requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.
  • Develops and executes Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization.
  • Evaluates and validates process and design alternatives/automation based on product manufacturability.
  • Key contact for capital projects that drive productivity and increased line throughput.
  • Work jointly with finance to understand plant financial metrics and insights into cost savings opportunities.
  • Assists maintenance team on key equipment upgrades and routine maintenance requirements.
  • Provide technical product support to sales team for customer concerns.
  • Execute and achieve process improvement objectives on schedule in a team environment. Support business plan objectives to increase productivity, reduce scrap and excess usage, improve quality, and enhance safety.
  • Lead equipment / process improvement projects utilizing sound project management techniques and see projects through to completion.
  • Provide fact-driven root cause analysis.
Experience
  • Experience in batch process / fabrication operations.
  • Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to analyze problems associated with processing issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of Bills of Material, Travelers, and Manufacturing and Planning Systems.
  • Skilled at multitasking; excellent communication skills; able to learn and take on new responsibilities; able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Strong degree of self-motivation and direction required; able to work with minimal supervision and be an effective team member.
  • Understands principles of cost of goods sold and relations to manufacturing.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
