Job Summary
Position:
Instrumentation Project Engineer (Development Operations) – Onsite (U.S. citizenship required for security clearance).
Location:
Middletown, CT, USA. Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200 per year.
- Lead the design and fabrication of instrumentation hardware for military and commercial engines, including major station probes, blade‑tip clearance probes, optical blade‑tip timing probes, slip rings, fan blade out packages, and telemetry packages.
- Develop Basis of Estimates (BOE) for commercial and government proposals.
- Provide project management to the Integrated Product Team (IPT), managing program/task budgets, schedules, and procurement of instrumentation hardware.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
- Communicate and lead cross‑disciplinary teams and interact with internal and external customers to meet task requirements.
- Travel up to 10% as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (or advanced degree with 3 years of project/engineering experience).
- Minimum 5 years of project engineering or mechanical engineering experience.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- Experience with project management tools (Agile, SAP, Primavera, or MS Project) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, managing budgets, and scheduling.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with minimal direction.
- Understanding of standard manufacturing methods.
- Effective interface skills with internal and external customers.
- Active security clearance (DoD Confidential) preferred.
U.S. citizenship is required. The role requires obtaining and maintaining an active U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Confidential) immediately after hire.
