Position: Prin Engineer, Design Engrg (Onsite)

What You Will Do

  • Provide design support across all phases of the design cycle—from preliminary through detailed design, validation, manufacturing, and operational service—for any component within the fan module (e.g., cases, frames, IBRs, bypass ducts, kinematics).
  • Support the existing F135 fleet through commonality initiatives and component optimization to meet current and future business and customer needs.
  • Expand repairability and maintainability for military customers and MRO facilities, collaborating with quality clinics and related departments to support testing and verification of field issues.
  • Design and implement common procedures and standard work across the organization to optimize efficiency and quality, including development of data, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.
  • Design and review component layouts, calculate stack‑ups, and perform major cost studies for new or existing details and marked prints, providing all supporting documentation to facilitate operations and meet objectives and budgets.
  • Resolve complex design problems to ensure project completion, and review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
  • Coordinate with engineering personnel to align interrelated designs and ensure project completion, and provide technical leadership on IPTs while assisting in training less‑experienced engineers.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of mechanical design engineering experience, OR advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with hardware, blueprint reading, and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with engineering standard work and Class I and/or II EC processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with fault tree investigation tools.
  • Proficiency in FEA and/or classical analysis methods.
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter and NX.
  • Active government security clearance.
Security Clearance

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Compensation

Salary range: $107,500

USD – $204,500

USD.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

The CSE team designs, develops, and provides in‑service support for all low‑pressure and high‑pressure compressors used in commercial and military engine models. CSE drives the identification and maturation of new technologies and works across project engineering, mechanical design, structural analysis, and product definition disciplines.
