The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) is hiring a Fiscal/Administrative Manager 1 in Middletown to manage the Grants Unit's fiscal and programmatic administration of federal, state, and private grants. This full-time, on-site position reports to the Fiscal/Administrative Manager 2 and involves supervising staff, coordinating fiscal functions including budget preparation, grant administration, and financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Keyqualifications
- Nine (9) years of experience in fiscal/administrative functions including accounting, budget management, grants administration, payroll, or purchasing
- At least one (1) year of experience in an accounting function
- One (1) year of supervisory experience managing professional-level staff
- Considerable knowledge of public administration, governmental budget management, and governmental accounting
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interpret state and federal laws and regulations
- Ability to analyze financial and statistical reports and utilize EDP systems for financial management
