** CAPS operates weekdays from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM with limited evening appointments, as well as 24/7 clinician access through an on-call rotation.
CAPS utilizes a community health model that integrates clinical services with prevention, education, consultation, training for the students, and outreach to the broader campus community.
Reporting to the Director of CAPS, the psychotherapist provides individual and group psychotherapy to students presenting with a broad range of mental health and emotional concerns. The position also contributes to clinical assessment and risk management, consultation, outreach and prevention programming, and the training and supervision of clinical trainees.

* Responsibilities include:
*** Provide individual and group psychotherapy for students with a wide range of mental health concerns.
* Conduct clinical assessments and provide appropriate treatment planning, referrals, and coordination of care.
* Provide consultation regarding student mental health concerns to students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other campus partners, as appropriate.
* Develop and provide mental health outreach, prevention, education, and training programs for students and the broader Wesleyan community.
* Collaborate with student organizations and campus partners, to identify community needs and develop responsive programming and consultation.
* Provide clinical supervision to trainees.
* Maintain clinical case files in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
* Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
* This is a 37.5-hour-per-week position that works 43 weeks during the calendar year and is off during the summer. The regular CAPS schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; this position is expected to work one evening per week to support limited evening appointment availability.
*** Minimum Qualifications
*** Masters degree in psychology, social work or a related field with a minimum of two years of clinical professional experience working with clients who present with a broad range of mental health concerns or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
* Current Connecticut Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in CT, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in CT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in CT or licensed clinical or counseling psychologist (LP) in CT or eligibility to obtain the required Connecticut license upon hire..
* Demonstrated experience assessing and treating clients presenting with acute, complex, and/or high-risk mental health concerns.
* Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial clinical caseload and competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment..
* Experience maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation of case files in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive clinical support.
* Effective communication skills.
* Experience working with clients from historically marginalized communities.
* Demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse environment and interacting collegially with individuals of different backgrounds.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or counseling psychology.
* Professional clinical experience working with late adolescent/emerging adult population or college age populations.
* Experience providing clinical services in a college or university counseling center.
* Experience developing and delivering mental health outreach, prevention, education, or training programs.
