Medical Biller​/Coder

J. Morrissey is seeking an experienced and certified Medical Coder for a healthcare organization in Middletown, CT. The ideal candidate will have strong hospital billing experience and a solid understanding of medical coding, insurance processes, prior authorizations, and collections.

• Perform accurate medical coding and ensure proper documentation and billing
• Review medical records and assign appropriate codes
• Work with hospital billing processes and insurance requirements
• Assist with prior authorization processes
• Follow up on outstanding balances and collection activities
• Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal departments as needed
• Maintain compliance with applicable coding and billing guidelines
• Support the revenue cycle process and identify potential billing issues

• CPC Required
• Previous hospital billing experience required
• Experience with medical coding and healthcare reimbursement
• Familiarity with prior authorizations and collections
• Strong understanding of insurance and billing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong computer and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Coder looking for a temp-to-hire or potential direct-hire position with a Monday–Friday schedule and a negotiable pay rate based on experience and qualifications.
