What You Will Do
Our Pratt & Whitney Middletown, CT facility has exciting opportunities for a Production Machinist on 2nd shift (Monday through Friday, approximately 3pm to 12am). In this role you will set up and operate one or more machine tools or process equipment types to produce precision turbine engine parts. You will follow established methods and procedures, using manual or numerically controlled machines such as milling, boring, grinding, turning, broaching, and shaping.
You will recognize indications of dull or damaged cutting tools and replace them as needed. You will perform bench, assembly, and surface‑finishing operations—including deburring, blending, trimming, fitting, drilling, riveting, bonding, and part‑marking—using a variety of hand and power tools. Cleaning, surface conditioning, anti‑gall and polymite coating application, and finishing operations using tumbling, grit blast, shot peening, buffing, polishing, wash machines, and dip tanks will also be performed.
You will operate OpCert and other computer‑based systems to retrieve and store information and records, perform routine servicing of equipment, and may need to train for and maintain operator permits and certifications within the assigned area.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 6months of machining experience.
