2nd shift. Hours Monday-Friday 3:12pm-11:59pm.
What You Will Do- Under direction of a leader or supervisor, follow assembly drawings, specifications, and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules, and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.
- Assist with engine test operations and perform component and accessory tests as assigned.
- Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules, and related components.
- Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements, and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within specified limits.
- Use mechanic’s hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections, perform installation of details, and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
- Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
- Assist with co‑producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects, and accommodate new engine programs while supporting changes in specifications.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with formal training in a specialized field achieving an A&P license or equivalent, or 4 years of technical high school with technical post‑high‑school certification and 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.
- Experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic preferred.
- 3+ years of avionics mechanic experience.
In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are internal or recall members of the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and affiliated locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
