THE POSITION

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is now hiring for a Forensic Clinical Psychologist to join their Forensics Unit at the Office of the Commissioner. This position will work closely with an interprofessional team, conducting court ordered evaluations for Competency to Stand Trial cases. This position will include report writing and editing and testifying in court as indicated.

Please note:

This position requires considerable travel across the state to various correctional facilities, hospitals and courts.

DISCOVER THE OPPORTUNITY TO

* Conduct court ordered examinations (CT General Statute § 54-56d: Competency to Stand Trial) with a multidisciplinary team and lead the interview during these examinations;

* Conduct other examinations independently or with other clinical staff in the Office of Forensic Evaluations;

* Write and edit reports to court;

* Conduct testing to assist in the formulation of an opinion to the court and summarize the testing for the other team members; and

* Provide clinical education to staff in the Office of Forensic Evaluations on topics relevant to the work.
