The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) - we are recruiting for multiple full time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); second and third shift roles to be based at our Hospital in Middletown.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
* LOCATION:
Albert J. Solnit Children's Center HOSPITAL - Middletown, CT
* SHIFT:
Positions are full-time, 8hr day/40hr weekly, with rotating weekends, all shifts.
* SCHEDULE:
* 2nd shift 2:45pm - 11:15 p.m.
* 3rd shift 11:10 pm.
- 7:10 a.m.
* However, work schedule flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the job.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
* IN ADDITION TO THE BASE ANNUAL SALARY, YOU MAY BE APPROVED FOR AN ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION BONUS:
Each Licensed Practical Nurse who is permanently assigned to second and third shift may receive a yearly "retention" bonus of six hundred ($600). This bonus shall be paid in two (2) installments:
In July and December. In order to be eligible for this bonus, the Employee must have completed one year of service in the classification.

ABOUT US
The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center - South Campus is a state-administered Psychiatric facility for Connecticut's children who are under the age of eighteen, located on a 67-acre campus at 915 River Road, Middletown, CT 06457.
The center provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents with severe mental illness and related behavior and emotional problems who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting. The south campus consists of four co-ed hospital units and three female adolescent psychiatric residential treatment facility cottages (PRTF). The Solnit Center facilities support our dedication to helping youth improve their individual and social competencies.

Selection Plan
FOR THOSE WHO HOLD A PRATICAL NURSE LICENSE IN A STATE OTHER THAN CONNECTICUT AND WISH TO APPLY FOR A CONNECTICUT LICENSE, PLEASE:
* Review the eligibility and documentation requirements for CT license by endorsement of an out-of-state license;
* Complete a CT DPH online application online (expand the 'Public Health Practitioners' grouping, select 'Licensed Practical Nurse' and then 'Start';
* Request verification of your out-of-state license(s) electronically through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's:
Nursys System. To send verification of your license(s) to CT, read and agree to the terms, enter your biographic information, select your license type (PN for Practical Nurse) and select 'SEARCH'. Review the results and select the 'Next' button. Check the box next to 'Connecticut' and complete the transaction. Once the transaction is completed, you will receive a confirmation email from Nursys and the verification will be available to the DPH.
Note that PA and MI verifications are not provided through Nursys. Please contact those state boards for information on obtaining verification.
