Monday–Friday, 2:45PM–11:15PM (No weekends)
40hrs/week (OT possible)
Pay: $60–$65/hr
Now hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a specialized behavioral health / psychiatric setting in Middletown, CT. This Registered Nurse role is onsite and designed for an experienced RN who can work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team. You’ll complete comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate nursing care plans, administer medications safely, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. If you have strong clinical judgment and experience in behavioral health, inpatient psych, or acute care nursing, this is a high‑paying opportunity with a consistent weekday schedule on 2nd shift and no weekends.
Responsibilities- Provide direct RN care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions
- Complete admission and discharge nursing assessments and coordinate plans for continuing care
- Develop and maintain individualized nursing and health care plans
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records, including secured medications and controlled substances
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and required reports
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support treatment planning and quality patient care
- Manage assigned caseload and daily clinical priorities in a structured behavioral health environment
- Participate in therapeutic activities as appropriate (individual/group/family support)
- Support crisis intervention processes and follow safety standards in a psychiatric setting
- Active Connecticut RN license or qualifying multistate license (required)
- 2+ years RN experience (BSN may substitute for 1 year) (required)
- Behavioral health / psychiatric hospital experience (preferred)
- Experience working with adolescents/youth with complex psychiatric profiles (preferred)
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in an environment that may include lifting/restraining individuals and challenging behaviors
