Quality Engineering, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
At Pratt & Whitney, a leading supplier of aircraft engines and power systems, we are seeking a PDC Quality Engineer to support 1st shift operations at our Middletown, CT Product Delivery Center. The role focuses on quality oversight during the assembly and test phases of engine production.
What You Will DoThe PDC Quality Engineer will:
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Customer Support, Procurement, Test Engineering, and other disciplines to facilitate assembly through shipping of engines.
- Develop and implement action plans to resolve hardware and assembly concerns, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Address nonconformances promptly, providing detailed root‑cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Work with flow‑line managers to support product delivery, balancing multiple priorities to prevent or minimize work stoppages.
- Coordinate quality projects and initiatives across product lines, focusing on improving the PDC’s quality signature.
- Establish and execute quality plans for configuration compliance, non‑conformance reduction, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in PDC compliance audits and generate quality metrics for the P&W Management team.
- Serve as a liaison to government and customer representatives on quality matters.
- Create process flow documents and maintain strong communication channels across the PDC shifts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM or Business field and at least 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management, project management, quality or a related environment, OR a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years of similar experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities and analyzing quality data.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and/or experience with Kaizen events, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, or related improvement programs.
- Knowledge of quality systems, preferably familiarity with SAP system transactions and data queries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep familiarity with SAP system transactions.
- Knowledge of technical manufacturing drawings.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, AS9102, and ISO.
- JCL2 certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and experience with government regulatory agencies.

Salary Range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD (based on experience)
