Low Voltage Cabling Technician
Location: Connecticut (Statewide project coverage)
Experience Level: Open to entry-level through experienced technicians
Licensing: T2 or C6 Low Voltage License preferred but NOT required – all qualified candidates encouraged to apply
About the RoleWe are seeking motivated Low Voltage Cabling Technicians to support commercial installation projects across Connecticut. Technicians will install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling, voice/data systems, and low-voltage infrastructure in commercial environments.
This role offers strong long-term career potential, including licensing support, hands-on mentorship, and advancement opportunities.
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 voice and data cabling systems
- Build and dress out telecom closets (racks, patch panels, cable management)
- Pull, route, label, and secure cabling through walls, ceilings, J-hooks, trays, and conduit
- Install and assist with AV, CCTV, access control
, and other low-voltage devices - Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and site plans
- Perform troubleshooting and complete service calls as needed
- Work safely on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
- Collaborate with Senior Technicians and Project Managers to ensure on-time delivery
- 6+ months of hands‑on low‑voltage, electrical, cabling, construction, telecom, or related experience (Entry‑level candidates with technical schooling accepted)
- Ability to use hand and power tools (punchdown, crimpers, drills, testers, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders/lifts
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
- Connecticut Low Voltage License (T2 or C6) – highly preferred for higher‑level work
- Experience with AV systems, access control wiring, CCTV/IP camera installs
- Familiarity with fiber termination or advanced cable testing
- Ability to read schematics and basic IP networking knowledge
This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00/hr.
