** The Rapid Rehousing Advocate (RRH) provides support, referrals, information, resources and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence who are participating in the CCADV Rapid Rehousing Program. The RRH Advocate is responsible for accepting referrals for individuals experiencing domestic violence who are also housing clients in the Middlesex County Catchment area and coordinating the application, eligibility, documentation and implementation of RRH services in an expedient fashion.
The RRH advocate will have expert knowledge in housing resources, the RRH process and will have a network of partners who can facilitate rapid rehousing.
** ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Responds to referrals for housing clients, assessing their situations making informed referrals and intake decisions.
* Responds to contacts made by victims, assessing their situation, making informed referrals and intake decisions**.
** Explains RRH program, goals, and regulations to those entering the program.
* Provides individual supportive counseling sessions with housing clients as needed to help them reach their goal of obtaining and retaining housing.
* Provides DV counseling and support to families who are directly affected by family violence and who are experiencing unstable housing.
* File all RRH paperwork in a timely manner to ensure appropriate enrollment of clients in services.
* Establishes network of partners with resources in the county for families experiencing unstable housing and helps take appropriate steps to secure housing.
* Disseminates updated information on community resources for families on housing mailing or email lists.
* Advocates for housing clients within the legal, welfare, housing and medical systems.
* Acts as a liaison between sheltered and non sheltered families and agencies in the community.
* Provide updated information and education to all NH team members to ensure seamless entry of clients into RRH program.
* Collaborates with other groups (CCADV, SACS, DCF) to educate the public, improve services offered, and to advocate for the rights of domestic violence victims and their children.
* Maintains compliance with agency mandatory training requirements.
* Attends RRH match meetings and monthly RRH compliance meetings held by CCADV.
* Works with Program Manager and ED to develop donation lists and to organize and distribute donations to families who are in RRH Program and require assistance in obtaining furniture and other items for their homes.
* Actively participates in case reviews with NH team of advocates.
* Actively participates in community events, consortia and other groups that could affect NH clients and services.
* Responsible for staffing the hotline at appointed time and hours and for documenting hotline calls appropriately and with adequate urgency.
* Responsible for entering data into ETO web based platform to ensure accurate documentation of service delivery. Within 48 hours of interaction.

** QUALIFICATIONS
* * Required Skills and Education
* Associates Degree Preferred Skills
* Comprehensive working knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence
* Commitment to working with victims affected by domestic violence, and a capacity to develop an overall plan for their safety and the preservation of their right to self-determination.
* Domestic violence certification - CCADV
* Effective oral and written communication.
* Knowledge of community resources.
Required Licenses/Certifications
* CHC requires as a condition of employment current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED (CPR/FPR/AED) certification. The only acceptable alternative is current American Heart Association BLS/AED for Healthcare Providers certification.
* Employees must have a current driver’s license with a clean driving record at time of hire and throughout employment.
** PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
*** May required rapid physical response, though work is primarily sedentary.
* Because of safety and security threats, this is a stressful position.
* Requires stair climbing.
** ADDITIONAL QUALIFICIATIONS
** This position requires a high degree of communication as victims of domestic violence are often under severe stress. The Child Advocate must be able to communicate with New Horizons staff/Community Health Center staff and other agency providers on issues of domestic violence.
** Confidentiality of Information
** Confidentiality of business information is a requirement. Confidentiality must be maintained according to CHC policies. Breach of confidentiality in domestic violence programming represents a potentially life threatening or fatal risk to clients.
