Job SummaryThe Commercial Solar Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations for commercial and small utility-scale solar PV projects throughout Delaware. This role ensures projects are constructed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design documents, local codes, and company quality standards. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary on-site authority, coordinating subcontractors, inspections, and field logistics.
Site & Construction Management- Supervise all on-site solar construction activities including civil work, racking, module installation, electrical scope, and commissioning support
- Enforce project schedules and coordinate daily work plans with subcontractors and internal crews
- Serve as the main on-site point of contact for inspectors, utilities, AHJs, property owners, and project stakeholders
- Track daily progress and report status, issues, and productivity to the Project Manager
- Enforce OSHA, company, and site-specific safety plans at all times
- Conduct daily JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses), toolbox talks, and site safety inspections
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local building codes, Delaware AHJ requirements, and
- utility interconnection standards
- Verify installation aligns with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements
- Perform quality checks on civil, mechanical, and electrical installations
- Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Maintain daily logs, manpower tracking, delivery logs, and photo documentation
- Review subcontractor work tickets and verify quantities completed
- Support RFI resolution, redlines, and as-built documentation
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and site access
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams
- Assist with inspections, punch lists, commissioning, and project closeout
- 3–7+ years of construction supervision experience, preferably in commercial solar or renewable energy
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, construction sequencing, and field operations
- Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA regulations, and commercial construction practices
- Experience managing subcontractors and multi-trade crews
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Delaware
- Prior experience supervising commercial or community solar projects (100 kW – 5 MW+)
- NABCEP certification (Installation Professional or PV Associate)
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working with Delmarva Power or regional utilities
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management tools
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk active construction sites and climb ladders/scaffolding as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
