Geotechnical Engineer

Geotechnical Engineer I – Wilmington, DE

As a Geotechnical Engineer I, you will contribute to the design and investigation of foundations, roadways, and earthen structures. You will collect and interpret field data, perform lab tests, assist in technical documentation, support project planning and cost estimation, and collaborate with an experienced engineering team.

• Assist in the investigation and design of building foundations, earthen structures, and roadways.
• Collect and help interpret data through research, file reviews, field observations and measurements, field testing, and other methods.
• Assist in preparing detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports.
• Perform computations and process data using computer software or other established methods.
• Perform geotechnical laboratory analysis at our on‑campus laboratory.
• Observe and document field activities and prepare construction documentation reports.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for design implementation.
• Perform site inspections under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, with a preference for a Master’s Degree and a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
• CAD experience is a plus.
• Strong calculation skills.
• The ability to interpret working plans.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen post offer.

The compensation range starts at $65,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensures.
