Part-Time Library Assistant, Middletown Township Public Library JOB POSTING
CIVIL SERVICE JOB SPECIFICATION: 07467
POSITION SUMMARYThe Middletown Township Public Library is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant in the Circulation department. This individual will report to the Circulation Manager. Flexibility, strong communication, and customer service skills are a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Prioritize, sort, shelve, and shelf-read library materials
- Assist patrons at the Circulation Desk
- Check-in and check-out of library materials
- Respond to inquiries regarding library accounts, due dates, overdue materials, and fines in person or by phone
- Create new library cards and review existing patron accounts
- Handle cash register transactions, including fine payments and Friends Store sales
- Assist with maintaining library collections, including weeding and relabeling
- Proofread and process incoming materials for accuracy in labeling and records
- Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
CWA 1032 Contractual rate: $19.95/hour
SCHEDULE17.5 hours per week, one Saturday a month (9am-5pm, Off Monday & Wednesday for Saturday)
Thursday: 1:30pm-5:00pm
Friday: 1:30pm-5:00pm
