Material Handler, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
Shift: Monday – Friday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Summary:
Receives, stores, and distributes material and products within establishments.
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to move, gather, or distribute.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes them to production workers or assembly line.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Skills and Abilities:
Bilingual in Spanish is helpful, but not necessary.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentFrequent exposure to extreme cold and extreme heat; moving mechanical parts; high and precarious places; noise level usually loud.
Pay RangePay Range: $21.00 per hour
