The Perioperative Nurse plays a vital role in our Surgery Center, providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical or endoscopic procedures. You will be part of a dedicated team supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth surgical experience. This role requires a caring and compassionate approach, with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and family support during all surgical phases.
- Assist physicians with surgical procedures, ensuring a well‑equipped and organized operating room.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring clear understanding of procedures and post‑operative care.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and provide timely updates to the surgical team.
- Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as per the surgical plan.
- Document patient care accurately, ensuring compliance with medical records standards.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to a culture of excellence.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain a positive and supportive work environment, fostering teamwork.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing;
Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred. - Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for new hires.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic surgical environment with frequent interruptions.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain a calm demeanor.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient care.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and record‑keeping.
- Willingness to continue professional development and stay updated with nursing practices.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
