Position: BRIDGES Student Success & Technology Instructor (PT) - SUNY Orange
Job Description:

Working as part of the BRIDGES educational team, the Student Success & Technology Instructor provides individualized coaching, classroom instruction, and technology support to students participating in the BRIDGES Program. The instructor assists students in developing the academic, technological, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills necessary for success in College coursework and future employment.

This position works closely with students enrolled in BRIDGES Hybrid programs who are pursuing College degrees while participating in BRIDGES support classes. Responsibilities include teaching technology instruction, facilitating Social Engagement courses as assigned, providing individualized executive functioning coaching, and helping students effectively utilize technology to enhance learning, organization, communication, and academic performance.

The instructor also supports students in developing strategies for stress management, emotional regulation, and resilience to promote persistence and independence throughout their college experience.

Required:

Experience working with diverse student populations in higher education, transition programs, or educational support services. Demonstrated experience teaching technology, executive functioning strategies, and student success skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Learning Management Systems, and educational technology platforms. Availability during daytime hours (Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.) is required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

* Bachelor's Degree.

* Experience teaching college-age students with diverse learning needs.

* Knowledge of executive functioning and evidence-based student success strategies.

* Understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive instructional practices.

* Experience supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, or related disabilities.

* Knowledge of stress management, self-regulation, mindfulness, and resilience-building techniques appropriate for young adults.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Learning Management Systems, educational technology, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

* Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and student support services.

* Community College or higher education experience.

* Bilingual skills are a plus.

* Ability to travel between College campuses and program sites.

Salary: $25 - $28 per hour, up to 29 hours per week. This position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds.
