Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer to support the design and delivery of building systems projects across a diverse portfolio of markets.
This role offers the opportunity to work on projects from concept through construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create efficient, code-compliant, and sustainable building solutions.
Successful candidates will have experience in MEP system design, strong technical knowledge, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges.
What You'll Do
* Design mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for projects in the education, healthcare, commercial, business, and retail sectors.
* Prepare engineering calculations, layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
* Utilize AutoCAD and collaborate with CAD designers and drafters to develop accurate project drawings.
* Manage design responsibilities for small- to mid-sized projects while supporting larger, complex projects under senior leadership.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and consultants throughout all phases of project development.
* Perform system analyses and engineering evaluations to ensure performance, efficiency, and code compliance.
* Review project requirements and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
* Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and emerging technologies.
* Participate in project meetings, field investigations, and construction support activities as required.
* Support quality control efforts to ensure accurate and complete project deliverables.
* Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on technical excellence and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
* 5+ years of engineering design experience in the MEP industry.
* Experience designing building systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, retail, or institutional facilities.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD.
* Strong understanding of building systems, engineering principles, and construction documentation.
* Knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
* Strong collaboration skills and a client-focused mindset.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
